We were delighted to give our new-look branding its first major outing at the National Convenience Show in Birmingham on 24-26 April. With thousands of visitors through the doors each day, it proved to be a superb forum in which to meet and exchange ideas with independent retailers, distributors and other suppliers to the convenience sector.
The addition of the Farm Shop and Deli Show provided a fascinating spotlight on this burgeoning area of the grocery sector – with the added benefit of numerous tasty treats to keep The Retail Mutual’s tireless team fuelled for a long day of networking!
Artisan bakery, charcuterie, protein and better-for-you products were out in full force, providing retailers with plenty of options for stocking new lines to complement their existing range, while shop fitters and digital providers showcased their latest developments to help retailers run a more effective business. The Retailer Hub saw record audiences gathering to hear speakers from the retail, manufacturing and broadcasting worlds. As always, the show boasted its share of famous faces including TV presenter and former Apprentice finalist, Saira Khan, and celebrity chef, Ainslee Harriott, pictured here with our very own Kirsty Savidge!
We were delighted to welcome hundreds of visitors to our stand, with existing Members popping by to say hello, suppliers and service providers keen to collaborate and many shop owners looking to learn more about our dedicated cover options for independent retailers.
Many took on the Mutual Challenge, trying their (rather unsteady) hands at navigating the buzzwire and all were entered into our free prize draw to win a flat-screen TV. Congratulations to Francis Fernandes of Erith, Kent, who was the lucky winner. We hope he will enjoy his prize.
